Let’s Eat!
April 4th, 2009 by plumpdumpling

I’m dying to know other food blog writers! Leave me a comment or ten, I’ll start commenting on your blog, and we’ll become iFriends for life.

Before you make any judgements about me, let me make it clear that I do not in any way condone the use of the number four to replace the word for. However, when I went to buy donutsfordinner.com, I found that someone’s squatting on it and refuses to sell it for less than $1200 due to what they’re calling its “premium nature”. Which is hilarious and stupid.

Unlike normal people, who apparently don’t consider sweets a natural part of every feast, I don’t really consider the savory parts necessary. If ice cream had a little more fiber, I’d be having dessert for every meal. And so I give you donuts4dinner, my excuse to talk about the food I like and eat whatever I want with abandon.

Love,
Katie

Wow, this is the most obnoxiously colored blog I’ve seen since…well…basically ever. Congrats on burning out my retinas.

I know! That was the idea!

Now you have to add the feed to your Google Reader to avoid having to visit the site on your own. I win!

You assume I’m actually gonna care enough to follow your thoughts. You did crush my heart and stomp it into little pieces after all.

And don’t forget that I also turned you gay!

On the positive side, this website is so ugly it makes your other one look decent. :-)

That’ll probably be the nicest thing anyone says about this blog.

        So THANKS!

I don’t know how I missed this comment until just today (maybe because I only update this thing once a month), but thanks! I really enjoy your blog and was pumped to see your published reviews.

I’m sorry that I didn’t respond to this earlier, but I just had a chance to really check out your blog and was happy to see the review of the Doughnut Plant here in NYC. It seems like you haven’t updated in a couple of months, so get back to eating, Wilsons!

You won my heart over with the line about sweets for every meal! I’m a pastry chef and believe that desserts should be a part of an every day routine. If I didn’t love them so much I wouldn’t make a career out of it. Thanks for the tip on the delicious sounding sprouts in BK.

Pretend that I didn’t wait two months to say hi to you and spam your blog with talk of peanut butter in chorizo dishes. I’m really pumped that you’re a pastry chef, because I really feel like dessert isn’t given its due in most restaurants, and I want you to change that. That’s right–it’s all on your shoulders. I suggest a lot of salt.

Just read the wd-50 post on Chowhound - well done. You mentioned being from Ohio in one of your fast-food posts - what part? We have a little (I did say a little) more than Fast Food here! :-)

I’m so glad you commented! I grew up about a half an hour south of Columbus in a tiny farming town and then went to school at OSU, but I left for NYC before I really grew to appreciate foodcraft and still haven’t been able to visit Columbus’s finer restaurants. So yeah, I’m super-excited to read your blog.

And holy crap, could you have eaten at more top-notch NYC restaurants while you were here? I gave your reviews a quick scan, but I’m definitely going to dive into them head-first later.

I’ve been to NYC quite a few times - friends in New Hyde Park - but yeah, I try to get out and about when I’m in NYC. Cbus isn’t all bad - but it sure isn’t New York. Cheers!

Hey there! Your blog design is beyond cute and I love the pictures. Just reading your posts now…

I write for The Savvy Soybean- a new NYC food blog about all things cheap, vegetarian and delicious:
    http://www.thesavvysoybean.com/

I’d love for you to check it out. I keep it mostly in Midtown and Hell’s Kitchen, but I like to explore when I get the chance =)

My blog design is gross, and we both know it, but I can’t help having the aesthetics of a 13-year-old girl, and I’m glad to see you can appreciate that. Although your blog is of course extremely professional-looking.

I was a vegetarian for several years in Ohio and found it so hard to find any restaurants to cater to me, but NYC’s definitely the right place to get great-tasting vegetarian food. My favourites are Red Bamboo in the West Village and Foodswings in Williamsburg. If you ever want to blog about them, I’d love to go with you!

Ah, you’re the third person who’s recommended Foodswings in the past week! I hardly ever get down to Brooklyn, but it’d be the first place I check out. You can definitely come with, I get so lost in BK!

Foodswings ALMOST makes me wish I was vegetarian again so I’d have fewer restaurant choices and more reason to eat there exclusively.
